Camonsun College Online

Camosun College's 10-month full-time Horticulture program begins in July each year and provides graduates with a Horticultural Technician Certificate. Training covers areas such as landscaping, landscape maintenance, parks, golf courses, retail garden outlets, ground crops industry, greenhouses, silviculture, nurseries, wholesale warehousing, transportation, etc.

Thompson Rivers University Online

Thompson Rivers University's 10-month Horticulture Certificate program providing basic training in landscaping, grounds maintenance, municipal parks, garden centers, greenhouses, nurseries and as horticulture technicians. The one-year accredited certificate Diploma in Horticulture and Management is designed for graduates of a horticulture program. It increases business knowledge and skills and enhance employability an/or performance in the horticulture industry at the supervisory, management and business owner level.

University College of the Fraser Valley

Horticulture options at UCFV include a comprehensive one-year Horticulture Crop Production certificate and two-year Horticulture Crop Production and Protection diploma. Both programs emphasize the principles and practices of horticulture crop production, protection, and maintenance. The one-year Horticulture certificate may be used to ladder into the two-year diploma in Horticulture Crop Production and Protection. UCFV also offers training in Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

Pacific Horticulture College, formerly Hort Centre of the Pacific

This 10 month, full-time program starts in early February and finishes in early December of each year. Mid-term break occurs the last two weeks in July. Students spend approximately 17 hours a week in the classroom and 12.5 hours a week learning all the practical aspects of identification, care and culture of plant material.

Kwantlen University College Online

Kwantlen's Horticulture Apprenticeship Program links learning and employment by providing Apprentices the opportunity to continue their education, while at the same time allowing them to maintain full-time employment in the Horticulture Industry.

Apprentices sign a registered agreement with an employer in the horticulture field who is committed to providing practical on-the-job training. During the Apprenticeship, students attend four six-week-long technical training sessions for theoretical and practical instruction at Kwantlen's Langley Campus.

Still in high school? Take the ACE-IT Level 1 Apprenticeship program for students in Grades 11 and 12. Students can register for the program through their individual schools.

Okanagan College offers a variety of continuing education programs in Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon, Summerland and Oliver. All Okanagan College courses are offered via distance education. They also have a horticulture Pre-Apprenticeship that includes high school students, as well as others seeking employment in the horticulture industry.
